Dr. Brian Clement, of Hippocrates Health Institute and his staff change peoples’ lives – or, rather, they help those people change their own lives and take charge of their own health and wellness.

It’s no surprise that Dr. Clement includes infrared heat therapy as part of the program at HHI – which includes vegan-based nutrition, exercise, positive thinking and other non-invasive therapies. Infrared sauna use is known to have several health benefits.

Dr. Clement believes that the best way to detoxify your body is through regular infrared sauna use (chelation comes in second to infrared sauna in effective detox, in Dr. Clement’s opinion). He also recommends drinking large amounts of fresh, clean water and raw juices, preferably green juices. Along with that, the supplement he recommends is a green algae called chlorella.

How does a sauna detoxify your body?

Just like light from the sun, infrared waves in a sauna penetrate up to 1-1/2 inches below your skin to detoxify and revitalize your cells. The resulting deep, highly efficient sweat eliminates toxins at the cellular level.

The deep penetration of infrared heat releases toxins from the fat layers just beneath the skin. It also helps your body eliminate toxins from your internal organs. These toxins pass from the organs to the fat tissue under the skin. Then they are eliminated in perspiration.

Researchers have analyzed the sweat produced in both traditional and infrared saunas. Sweat from traditional saunas was about 97% water and 3% toxins. Sweat produced in infrared saunas was 80-85% water. The remainder (15-20% of the perspiration) consisted of toxins such as heavy metals, sulfuric acid, sodium, ammonia, uric acid other fat-soluble toxins.
