Summer can be unkind to our skin. Obviously, sunscreen is your skin’s friend. But did you know that infrared light therapy from a sauna can also improve your skin’s appearance?

A study published in the Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy1 showed significant improvements in skin appearance after just 12 weeks of sauna skin therapy using near-infrared technology. Participants experienced a reduction in wrinkles and crow’s feet, as well as improved overall skin tone, including softness, smoothness, elasticity, clarity and firmness.

Not only did this study show skin health improvement, we also see it in our own building on a regular basis! At ºdegree Wellness, our terrific facility, we offer Whole Body Cryotherapy, Cryotherapy Facials, Localized Spot Cryotherapy, NormaTec Compression, Celluma Elite Light Therapy, Halotherapy and, yes, Infrared Sauna Therapy.

Our clients often use infrared sauna sessions to complement their other services. Our team also recommends sauna therapy to skin care clients. Why? Because they know from experience that among other sauna benefits, regular infrared light therapy from one of our saunas can help improve your skin’s appearance significantly. It doesn’t just feel good; there are medical sauna benefits for skin.

Note that the study cited above relating to sauna skin benefits involved near-infrared wavelengths. The Solocarbon Custom Spectrum heater (found in the full spectrum infrared saunas at ºdegree Wellness) is the only infrared sauna heater on the market with near-infrared technology!
